HIV /AIDS - SIK

AIDS is a rare disease in Sik.There are only 4 incidence in yaer 2008.no new cases in 2009.

Eventhough it is not a serious problem in Sik, preventive measures are still carried out.
Activities that have been carried out:
1. NSP speech.
- Educate the public about NSP (National Specific Programme).
- NSP is designed to help not only HIV patients but also single mother.
- Helping them by giving counselling and also teach them some skills to earn
money.
2. Speech about HIV for the Nasional service students.
3. Speech about HIV for health officers.
4. Healthy teenagers camp
5. Prostar
- a programme or a unit designed specifically to focus on teenagers and students.
- Educate the students and encourage students to participate in sports and healthy activities.
Death of HIV patient needs to be handled differently in the Malay's society.
Normally,the body will be "washed" before buried. In case of HIV, the procedures and materials used will be slightly different.

The person conducting the washing,needs to be properly trained and free of any injuries or wounds.

1. Sodium hypochlorite (chlorox)
2. Disposible gloves
3. Forceps
4. Aphron
5. Goggle
6. Plastic boots and others
